Since 2022 Sunrise Tech Park is a member of a Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community (Climate KIC) supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and has participated in its activities since 2015. EIT Climate-KIC has more than 450 global Community Members spanning universities, businesses, cities and NGOs, providing an unparalleled breadth of knowledge and expertise for climate action. Climate KIC provides access to a network of experts in climate innovation, facilitates learning, innovating and orchestrating transformation together, supports seeking funding together and influences key climate and innovation policies.
EIT Climate KIC initiative Climate Launchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition. Its mission is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. Since 2015 Sunrise Tech Park has provided opportunities for Lithuanian startups to participate in the ClimateLaunchpad program to improve their green business ideas.
The EIT Climate-KIC Climathon is a global event that takes place annually, bringing together individuals, communities, and organizations to collaborate on finding innovative solutions to climate challenges. In 2020-2022 Sunrise Tech Park organized hackathons “ClimathonVilnius” where Lithuanian teams generated ideas for a climate-neutral and sustainable city.
ClimAccelerator is a global programme for start-ups to innovate, catalyse and scale the potential of their climate solutions. In 2021 Sunrise Tech Park, together with partners from the Baltics and Slovakia participated in the business acceleration program “Baltics & Slovakia ClimAccelerator” and created opportunities for Lithuanian startups to develop green business solutions in an international training program.
The membership of Sunrise Tech Park in Climate KIC is funded by the Lithuanian Research Council through the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility under the national plan “New Generation Lithuania” and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
