The Returning “Cleantech Catalyst” Incubation Program: Startups Invited to Join an Inspiring Journey

The trajectory of our planet’s climate is fundamentally shifting. 2023 marked the beginning of what experts call the ‘global boiling’ era, emphasizing the urgent need for large-scale action to reduce climate impact and achieve a sustainable, low-carbon future. In this context, cleantech innovations are more important than ever, and the Cleantech Catalyst program is part of the potential change.

Cleantech Catalyst: Empowering Startups for a Greener Future

The Cleantech Catalyst business incubator was created to support startups aiming to implement innovative ideas that contribute to a more sustainable future. Its mission is clear: to foster advanced startups and drive positive change in the cleantech sector. By providing a dynamic ecosystem, expert mentorship, and essential resources, Cleantech Catalyst enables startups to turn their innovative ideas into impactful solutions for the planet.

Spring 2024: The First Cohort Begins Its Journey

In spring 2024, six promising startups embarked on an inspiring journey through the Cleantech Catalyst program. Participants had the opportunity to work in a modern office space located at Sunrise Tech Park in Vilnius, fostering creativity and collaboration. They took part in ten hands-on workshops led by industry professionals, covering key business and market topics. Additionally, startups benefited from valuable mentorship sessions with experts from various cleantech fields, helping them overcome challenges.

The incubator program also provided unique networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect with investors, policymakers, and other innovators. Networking took place at various conferences, including Tech Chill in Latvia and LOGIN in Vilnius.

The program’s highlight was the Demo Day, held during the DigiGreen conference, where startups competed for a €10,000 cash prize, presenting their ideas to investors and a wide audience.

The Second Cleantech Catalyst Program: What’s Next?

The second Cleantech Catalyst program will bring even more opportunities, with workshops designed to dive deep into the key aspects of innovation development and market entry, ensuring participants are well-prepared to tackle industry challenges and opportunities. The practical workshops will cover topics such as:

  • Market trends and research
  • Product development and market entry strategies
  • Strategic planning and innovative business models
  • Legal frameworks and intellectual property protection
  • Fundraising and investment strategies
  • Team formation and dynamics
  • Attracting investors

To maximize startups’ engagement in the ecosystem, the incubator will also feature informal meetups, including community breakfasts, networking events, and individual mentorship sessions. After the three-month incubation, startups will have the chance to present their solutions to investors and industry experts, with the best-performing teams competing for cash prizes.

How to Apply for the Second Edition

The second Cleantech Catalyst program will launch in spring 2025. Startups can apply starting January 30, with the application deadline on March 4. Selected participants will be announced on March 12, and the program will officially begin on March 18. Over the following months, participants will engage in an intensive program, culminating in the Demo Day at the DigiGreen conference on June 5.

The program offers a unique opportunity for cleantech startups to gain valuable knowledge, resources, and industry connections. From expert insights to a collaborative environment with like-minded innovators, Cleantech Catalyst provides an ideal platform for startups aiming to make a meaningful impact by creating environmentally friendly solutions.
